Organized as a corporation. Also verifies and label compliant agricultural inputs in addition to offering legal and real estate consulting.

Requires certified growers to improve in some (at least one) aspect from year-to-year to maintain certification.

Sungrown

A small business support group that educates consumers and connects them to small, environmentally-oriented cannabis growers through collective branding and marketing.

Cannabis Certification Council

Cert Council

Industry association with environmental implications. Focused on educating the public and created to support clean and sustainability-focused production. Advocate for clean and ethical production with a long-term goal of creating a certification for organic and fair trade growing.

The CCC is organized as a 501 (c6) non-profit. Also hosts industry events focused on sustainability (www.CannabisSustainability.org) and created this website (www.Whatsinyweed.org).

DEM Pure Certification

DEM Pure Certification

A DEM Pure Certificate redefines what the Cannabis industry sees as pure, clean medicine. Cannabis has had many generations of being demonized, ostracized and misunderstood. We are now out of prohibition with a wonderful opportunity to create our own standards and expectations on how medicine should be treated, grown and perceived. A Pure certification involves education and the highest of beyond organic gardening standards with nature as a guide. This certification is an agreement, a mutual understanding of true health and commitment to safe guard the integrity of this master plant’s reputation. This commitment is sought after and given to gardeners that are already on the path of ecological regeneration, growing of high quality healthy medicine and food and education to the next generation of healthy cannabis growers. Having a DEM Pure cert recognizes that a farmer is utilizing solely regenerative and biologically intelligent practices. We are is acting as a steward to the land, soil, plants and the humans that are part of the cycle of natural health. A DEM Pure certified farmer is giving back to the community through education, sharing ideas and encouraging an expansion of knowledge to those that are just learning. They are leaders and teachers of beyond organics that uses nature as a guide for his/her techniques. This certificate is not comparable to any organic certification. It encompasses mindfulness and practices that derive from nature, community building, sharing of ideas and techniques, care taking patients and your workers. It is not meant to comply with any other certificate. It does not require the use of DEM products. It recognizes the highest growing practices for healthy, clean medicine.

Humboldt Green

Humboldt Green

A community-oriented industry organization addressing environmental problems by facilitating collaboration among industry actors, university researchers, and technological innovators.

Resource Innovation Institute (RII)

A conservation non-profit that aims to minimize the cannabis industry’s contribution to climate change through research-based public-private partnership. Organized as a 501 (c3) non-profit, membership organization supported by membership fees, individual, institutional and foundational support.

A multi-stakeholder environmental standards-setting organization offering certification with a focus on sustainability and clean production. TCC is organized as an LLC. Also offers research services.

Foundation of Cannabis Unified Standards (FOCUS)

An independent regulatory body that aims to bring the safety-oriented regulations, standardization, and consensus-based standards-setting typical of other industries to cannabis.

Foundation of Unified Cannabis Standards (FOCUS) – Organized as a 501 (c3) and LLC. Offers license application support and compliance gap analysis.

Requires certified growers to improve in some (at least one) aspect from year-to-year to maintain certification.

National Association of Cannabis Businesses (NACB)

The first and currently only self-regulatory membership organization in the United States cannabis industry. NACB has developed the first ever national advertising rules for cannabis. The standard has been drafted and is currently available for review and comment.
